Good Morning Britain presenter Ben Shephard has unveiled his impressive six-pack in a striking Men’s Health cover shoot, recreating a photoshoot from 13 years ago as he reflects on staying fit after turning 50.
The ITV star, now 50, credits his fitness success not to any single exercise but to consistent effort. Speaking to Men’s Health UK, Shephard explained that maintaining health and muscle in his 50s is easier than in his 30s due to a deeper understanding of his body’s needs.
“To get stronger physically and mentally is harder as you age,” he said. “In my forties, I was on the attack; now in my fifties, I’m on the defensive, focusing on longevity rather than intensity.”
Shephard also emphasized the importance of discipline and accountability, describing them as “seductive and infectious” motivators that fuel his commitment.
During the shoot, Shephard posed shirtless with workout equipment but stressed that his defined abs are “made in the kitchen.” He shared that his wife handles most of the cooking, and they’ve agreed on balancing protein intake during the day so he can still enjoy family dinners.
Ben Shephard’s transformation highlights the power of consistency, discipline, and smart nutrition in maintaining fitness well into middle age.
