Turning 35 is a major milestone in a working woman’s life — a time to pause and reconsider her health priorities.
As professional and personal responsibilities increase, experts stress the importance of building habits that promote long-term wellness.
“Women at this age must focus on their health,” said Dr. Narander Singla, lead consultant of internal medicine at CK Birla Hospital in Delhi. “Amidst the demands of a fast-paced lifestyle, taking time to invest in your physical, mental, and emotional health can make a big difference over the years.”
Health specialists recommend that women in their mid-30s begin scheduling regular preventive check-ups. These should include screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, thyroid function, and breast health.
“Early detection is the key to better health outcomes,” explained Dr. Birali Swetha, chief dietician at Gleneagles Aware Hospital in Hyderabad. “Making screenings a routine part of life helps catch problems before they become serious.”
Dr. Singla added that annual visits to your primary care provider help track vital health markers and identify potential issues early. “Women should stay up to date with recommended screenings, such as mammograms and Pap smears,” he said. “Vaccinations like the yearly flu shot are equally important.”
Knowing your family’s medical history is also vital. “It gives you insight into your own risk factors and helps you take proactive steps for prevention,” Dr. Singla said.
By adopting these simple yet essential health habits, working women at 35 can set the foundation for a healthier, more balanced future.
