Trump Aide Calls on Jill Biden to Address President’s Health Concerns

by Shreeya

A top spokesperson for former President Donald Trump is calling on Jill Biden to publicly address concerns about her husband Joe Biden’s mental health, accusing the former first lady of hiding information from the public.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt made the remarks during a May 29 press briefing, responding to a question about whether Jill Biden should testify before Congress. Leavitt claimed the former first lady was “complicit” in concealing the president’s condition.

“Anyone who watches the videos and sees the photos can tell there’s been a cover-up,” Leavitt said. “Jill Biden was certainly part of that cover-up.”

The comments come amid growing political scrutiny over the 82-year-old Democratic president’s health, especially following his recent announcement that he has been diagnosed with aggressive Stage 4 prostate cancer.

Concerns about Joe Biden’s mental fitness have increased since early 2024, when Special Counsel Robert Hur released a report on Biden’s handling of classified documents. Hur concluded that a jury would likely view Biden as “a sympathetic, well-meaning elderly man with a poor memory,” and chose not to pursue charges.

Later, during a presidential debate in June 2024, Biden’s performance raised additional concerns about his health. He eventually withdrew from the presidential race, throwing his support behind Vice President Kamala Harris.

So far, neither President Biden nor Jill Biden has responded to the recent remarks from Trump’s team. Key aides and officials close to the Bidens have also not issued statements.

The Trump administration’s push for answers mirrors actions taken by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer. Comer has requested testimony from several current and former Biden staffers, including the president’s doctor, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, and former policy advisors. He claims the Biden administration has blocked attempts to investigate the president’s health.

“The American people deserve transparency,” Comer said in a recent statement, criticizing what he called the White House’s refusal to cooperate with prior inquiries.

A new book titled Original Sin, written by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios’s Alex Thompson, quotes an insider claiming that Biden was “only one of five people running the country,” adding fuel to the ongoing debate over the president’s capacity to lead.

During the White House briefing, Leavitt did not back down from her criticism of Jill Biden. “She’s still lying to the American people,” Leavitt said. “She thinks the public is too stupid to see the truth. It’s insulting—and she needs to be held accountable.”

The controversy continues to grow as Republicans demand more answers, and the Bidens face increasing pressure to respond.
