TOKYO, July 1st, 2024 – FUJIFILM Corporation has announced the grand opening of a new “NURA” health screening center in Hanoi, Vietnam. This facility, focusing on cancer screening, marks the first NURA center in the South-East Asia region. The center will be managed by the VIETNAM JAPAN HEALTH TECHNOLOGY JOINT STOCK COMPANY (VJH), which also operates the T-Matsuoka Medical Center in Vietnam. FUJIFILM’s subsidiary, FUJIFILM DKH LLP, currently operating NURA centers in India and Mongolia, will support VJH in providing health screenings targeting cancer and lifestyle diseases.
Vietnam faces significant health challenges, with cancer and lifestyle diseases such as ischemic heart disease being leading causes of death. Early detection and appropriate treatment are crucial in reducing the mortality and morbidity associated with these conditions. Despite compulsory corporate health screenings, the rate in Vietnam remains low at about 3.5%, highlighting a critical need for improved screening practices.
The new NURA health screening center aims to address this gap by offering high-quality screening services. Fujifilm, leveraging its expertise from existing NURA centers, will collaborate with VJH and T-Matsuoka Medical Center to enhance healthcare delivery in Vietnam. Since launching its first NURA health screening center in Bengaluru, India, in 2021, Fujifilm has expanded its operations to include four centers in India and one in Mongolia. NURA centers utilize Fujifilm’s cutting-edge medical devices, including CT scanners and mammography systems, along with AI-based medical IT systems to assist doctors in screening for cancer and lifestyle diseases. The convenience of completing all checks and receiving results within approximately 120 minutes has been a significant factor in the service’s popularity, with over 45,000 users to date.
